The vibrant world of trading card games thrives on exchange, but for many enthusiasts, geographical isolation often stifles this core experience.
What happens when someone moves to a new town with no established trading community? Or when you're the sole, passionate collector in your area? Without a local network of fellow players and traders, the thrill of exchanging cards for mutual benefit quickly dissolves into a frustrating, solitary pursuit. This lack of access to a diverse trading pool means collectors often face insurmountable hurdles in finding specific cards or locating partners for a fair trade.
Enter TCC (Trading Card Center), the innovative digital platform designed to bridge these gaps and revolutionize card trading. Think of TCC as a dedicated matchmaking app for trading cards, built on the unique concept of an 'Ideal Trade.' Users simply create a listing defining their ideal exchange: a specific card they're offering, paired with the exact card they desire in return.
When another user's listing perfectly aligns with your 'Ideal Trade' requirements, TCC creates a mutual match, instantly connecting both parties. Users are immediately notified, enabling them to chat directly and arrange a seamless way to complete their perfectly matched trade. TCC transforms the arduous hunt for cards into an intuitive, efficient, and genuinely rewarding exchange experience.
Research and testing shaped TCC into a solid solution for users to not only 'Ideal trade' but also make trading listings and generate community.
TCC stands as my culminating project for the Prototyping course of my Product Design career in Coderhouse.
This project was fundamentally an exercise in UI development and systematic design,
which meant that robust user research was not its primary focus.
This iterative process of research, testing, and reconstruction is something I eagerly anticipate applying to
TCC as it represents the very essence of impactful product design.
